The North West’s water company is set to invest more than £5.9 million on two schemes that will improve the combined storm overflow (CSO) systems at Briarlands Close and Lumb Lane. The essential work will ultimately safeguard the environment, by reducing the number of times that the overflows operate into the Micker Brook.

Work on the Briarlands Close CSO is set to start in Spring 2025 and will take up to 12 months to complete.

The work at Lumb Lane is set to start in Summer 2025 and will take up to 12 months to complete.

Residents and businesses are being invited to find out more about both schemes at second drop-in event later today at Nook & Broom, 9-11 Bramhall Lane South, Bramhall, Stockport SK7 1AL between 4pm and 7pm.
