The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) is seeking market input on its proposal to appoint a Fund Manager for the £94 million Biodiverse Landscapes Fund.
The Prime Minister announced a new £100 million Biodiverse Landscapes Fund (BLF) at the 2019 UN General Assembly to restore key landscapes and their ecosystems and support human development objectives in global biodiversity hotspots.
Defra is anticipating a requirement to appoint a Fund Manager (FM) to manage approx. £86.6 million of Official Development Assistance (ODA) grant funding in 18 countries grouped into six landscapes, over a period of 9 financial years. The fund could also be further extended by up to 36 months.
The Fund Manager would be required to administer delivery partner competitions, manage and monitor the grants, co-ordinate BLF-wide learning, and provide ad-hoc and bespoke technical assistance, through a call-down facility.
Defra is now inviting expressions of interest from the market and is looking to undertake market engagement activity with suppliers ahead of going out to competitive tender.
