The Council has issued a Prior Information Notice (PIN) to the open market to seek expressions of interest from suppliers who want to participate in a market engagement exercise that will assist Essex County Council (ECC) in understanding the options for bio waste disposal services.
The services are currently being provided through a framework and include the treatment, transfer and transport of municipal bio-waste arising from the county of Essex.
Essex County Council said it is investigating all future disposal options and are not limited to the operational constraints of the current framework.
Estimated total value is put at £3.4 million.
ECC are engaging with the market to shape the replacement of the current bio waste disposal services. The contract will include the supply of the disposal/landfill areas for segregated municipal bio wastes as well as transfer and haulage.
The local authority is looking to engage with suppliers who have the ability to deliver all or part of the services that are currently managed under its existing Bio Waste Disposal framework.
The Council would like to speak to supply chain with capability in the following areas:
- Bio Waste Disposal
- Landfill Operators
- Waste to Energy Operators
Respondents will need to submit expressions of interest via email by 5pm tomorrow - on 9th March 2021.
