Severn Trent has announced details of more contractors it intends to use to deliver its £2 billion investment programme for its AMP7 construction projects during 2020-25.
Severn Trent Water and sister company Hafren Dyfrdwy have changed the way that they intend to carry out the work between 2020 and 2025. Design work will be brought in-house and will see the creation of a new specialist design team -around 50% of the in-house capital design team have now been recruited ready for a fast start to AMP7.
The water company, has announced details of contractors appointed to its MEICA-led capital delivery build-only framework (Lot 3).
Details of contractors appointed to its capital delivery design-and-build frameworks (Lot 1) and civils-led capital delivery build-only framework (Lot 2) were announced in March this year.

Commenting on the new appointments, Helen Miles, Severn Trent's capital delivery and commercial director, said:
“Getting fast-track status from Ofwat means that we’ve been able to make a really early start on our planning for AMP7.
“We now working to define the key projects we need to deliver for our customers, which we can do alongside our new construction partners. We are delighted we now have our partners in place for lots 1, 2 and 3. This remains a really exciting time for us as we look at new, more efficient ways to invest for the future to make our services even better.”
Details of its Severn Trent’s ICA-led capital delivery build-only framework (lot 4) have not yet been announced.
Yesterday the company published a Trading Update for the period 1 April to 17 July 2019 saying the Board continues to expect that the Group will deliver full-year trading performance in-line with its expectations and prior guidance.
Severn Trent currently remains on track to deliver at least £25 million in customer ODI outperformance payments this year.
