Southern Water is looking to increase on-site electricity generation via a Solar Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and seeking market input on its solar energy strategy.

The water company is seeking to potentially establish a contract via a Solar PPA to increase electricity generation on its sites in Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Sussex and Kent using a combination of ground-mounted, floating and rooftop solar arrays.

At this stage Southern Water has only released a request for information (RFI) and periodic indicative notice (PIN) and is not currently requesting expressions of interest.

The RFI will be used to gain information from the market and to support the sourcing strategy and long-term management of the contract.

Indicative time-scale for publication of a contract notice is May 2020 – click here to access the Periodic Indicative Notice.
