Thames Water has gone out to tender with a contract for repair work and maintenance services on its dewatering and thickening equipment worth an estimated £14.6 million in total.

The water company is looking to award a number of framework agreements to one or more suppliers for the maintenance of its dewatering equipment. The type of maintenance service to be provided under the contract will be shared/total care where the suppliers are responsible for the availability of the equipment.

In a total care maintenance agreement, Thames Water will not be performing any maintenance tasks, while on a shared care maintenance agreement, the water company will operate front line maintenance activities in the form of defined basic daily activities.

The contract is being tendered in two separate Lots:

Lot 1: Shared care maintenance of all belt filter presses (32) and gravity belt thickeners (55) across all Thames Water Region (£5.8 million)

Lot 2: Total care maintenance of all Bucher presses (19) throughout the Thames Water Region (£8.8 million)

The initial term of the agreement is 3 years, with further extension options which take the contract to a maximum overall of 8 years.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 4th December 2019 – click here to access the tender documentation.
