Thames Water has gone out to tender with a framework contract for testing and analysis services for Chemical Investigations Programme 3 worth an estimated £2.5 million.
The water company is looking to award a single supplier Framework Agreement for sampling, laboratory analysis and reporting from sewage works, river sites etc, across the Thames Water geographical region, in the South of England.
The total number of samples will be approximately 2600 over the initial term of the contract to be undertaken through a phased scheme of work for Chemical Investigations Programme 3 (CIP3), the majority of which will take place in the first year (and sixth year if extended).
The range of substances to be analysed in CIP3 is an extension of that carried out in CIP2 including: metals
- flame retardants
- antifungal substances
- sanitary determinands
- substances of specific environmental concern
- pharmaceuticals
- insecticides
- substances of emerging concern.
The initial term will be for 5 years with options to extend up to a maximum term of 8 years.
