The UK Hydrographic Office has gone out to tender with a contract for marine environmental monitoring systems worth an estimated £4 million.

UK HYDROGRAPHIC OFFICE 400x400

The UK Hydrographic Office (UKHO) is a world-leading centre for hydrography, specialising in marine geospatial data. The Office works with a wide range of partners to source, process and provide access to the data, ranging from seabed to surface.

Earlier this month the UKHO launched its new ADMIRALTY GAM Service to streamline the bathymetric data cleansing process. The new tool uses AI and machine learning to identify sonar noise in bathymetric data sets and delivers substantial time efficiencies in cleansing and verification tasks.

The monitoring contract will run for a five year term – no further extension options have been provided.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 24th November 2021 – click here to access the tender documentation.
