United Utilities is seeking supplier input into predictive technology tools procurement ahead of going out to tender with a formal contract.
The water company has issued a Periodic Indicative Notice flagging up a future opportunity entitled Maintenance Excellence – Predictive Technology Tools.
United Utilities said that as it moves towards a more proactive and preventative state of maintenance it is looking to equip its Field Service Engineers with a tool kit to enable this.
The procurement will cover the sourcing of vibration monitors, thermal imaging cameras and drive belt/pulley laser alignment tools.
Prior to the procurement United Utilities said it wants to gain feedback on the proposed terms and conditions that will cover the agreement. According to the utility, by undertaking pre market research, it can then evaluate the current market position and identify whether the market will accept the contract favourably.
The procurement will consist of requesting the bidder to supply the required goods for each lot under the proposed agreement.
