United Utilities has gone out to tender with a contract for energy meters worth an estimated £2.5 millions.

The procurement covers the installation, rental, maintenance and operation of approximately 4 000 electricity meters. The meters include fiscal electrical import and export meters - the majority of these are located on around 3855 of the company’s sites, including water and wastewater treatment works, network operations and administration facilities.

Initial contract term will run for 5 years plus optional 1 year extensions up to a maximum 10 year term in total.
