Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has awarded an AMP7 contract for meter reading services.
The contract, which was tendered in two Lots, covers the provision of meter reading software, meter data collection system and meter reader devices. Scope of the contract includes:
- Mobile device software to capture meter readings and associated supporting information for all meter types within the DCC estate.
- A meter data collection system for the central storage and management of meter data to integrate with the DCC's core billing system.
- Ruggedised handheld mobile devices for use by meter readers.
Welsh Water has 800,000 meters in its asset base, of which 3,500 are ‘drive by’ meters.
The initial contract term is 3 years with three further annual extension options.
Co. Tipperary-based firm TEMETRA Ltd in Ireland has been awarded the contract, one of two companies in the bidding for the work.
