Westmorland and Furness Council has gone out to tender with a contract for drainage improvements & CCTV investigations 2024/25 – South Lakes worth an estimated £250,000.

Road drain surface water

Westmorland & Furness Council said it is seeing an increasing trend in the frequency and intensity of severe weather events and has limited internal resource available for dealing with all of the drainage issues coming into the service,

According to the Council it is struggling to keep on top of the increasing demands and is therefore aiming to secure an arrangement, under the NEC4 Short Contract, ensuring additional resources are available to call upon, to assist with improving the condition of its highway surface water drainage assets.

The works will involve assisting the Council with drain cleansing, drainage investigations and CCTV surveys on surface water drainage systems, and associated assets at targeted locations.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 12:00pm on 5 July 2024 – click here to access the tender documentation.
